Support for the Whole Family's Transition
Preston Patterson is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with over 11 years of experience working with teens, adults, couples, and neurodivergent individuals navigating life's challenges and transitions.
As a father himself, Preston has a special interest in supporting couples as they navigate the transition to parenthood and the many adjustments that come with growing a family. He enjoys helping parents strengthen their relationships, improve communication, and work through the stress, identity shifts, and changing dynamics that often accompany pregnancy, postpartum life, and raising children.
Preston also works with fathers who may be struggling with anxiety, depression, overwhelm, or the challenges of balancing work, family, and personal wellbeing. Dads are often expected to be the steady one while their partner recovers and a new baby takes center stage. Many quietly carry stress they don't feel they have permission to talk about. Preston offers them a place to do exactly that.
A warm, patient, and trauma-informed space to explore your experiences with curiosity and compassion.
As both a therapist and an artist, Preston values authenticity, insight, and healing through connection. His own experiences with chronic illness, fatherhood, and personal growth have deepened his appreciation for the complexity of the healing journey and the resilience people bring to it.

His Approach
Collaborative, Affirming, and Trauma-Informed
Preston provides a warm, patient, and trauma-informed space where clients can explore their experiences with curiosity and compassion. He believes that mental health struggles are deeply connected to neurobiology, relationships, life experiences, and environment, and are not simply something that exists in isolation.
That means Preston looks at the whole person. Anxiety might be connected to a nervous system that's been on high alert for years. Conflict with a partner might be shaped by patterns from childhood. Burnout might come from a work or school environment that doesn't fit how your brain works. Understanding those connections helps clients make changes that last.
His approach is collaborative, affirming, and tailored to each client's unique needs and strengths. As an LGBTQ+ affirming therapist, Preston strives to create an environment where every client feels safe, understood, and empowered, regardless of identity, relationship structure, or family makeup.
