Supporting You Through Every Stage

About

Our Team

Ashlyn Douglass-Barnes, MSW, LCSW-QS, PMH-C

I’ve dedicated my career to supporting individuals and families through some of life’s most overwhelming and transformative moments. As someone who understands both the emotional weight and the unspoken expectations placed on parents and caregivers, I know this journey isn’t always what you imagined. Whether you’re facing fertility struggles, navigating pregnancy after loss, adjusting to life after birth, or simply trying to remember who you are amidst the demands of parenting—I’m here for it. All of it.

We’ll talk honestly about the parts no one warned you about—the guilt, the resentment, the fear, and the pressure to “bounce back” when you barely feel like yourself. Don’t worry, we’ll cuss, we might cry, and there’s absolutely no need to filter your feelings. I’ll hold space for the dark moments, the intrusive thoughts, and even the things you’re afraid to say out loud. And through it all, I’ll help you find your footing again.

I specialize in processing trauma, whether from previous birth experiences, pregnancy loss, fertility treatments, or painful life events that are resurfacing now. I also help with the big life adjustments—starting or growing your family, navigating changes in your relationships, recovering from the mental and physical toll of childbirth, managing shifts in identity and career, and even deciding whether parenting is the right path for you. And if you’re coping in ways that aren’t helping anymore—numbing out with food, alcohol, shopping, or scrolling endlessly—I offer support without judgment.

In addition to my work with parents and caregivers, I also serve as a clinical director at a local non-profit and provide mentorship to new therapists entering the field. Throughout my career, I’ve worked in diverse settings—from medical social work and community mental health to inpatient hospitals and outpatient therapy. What I’ve learned is this: no one is ever too far gone, too broken, or beyond help.

At the end of the day, my goal is simple—to help you believe that a life worth living is still possible, and together, we’ll take the next best step toward it.

Tania S. Gorham, MS, LMFT-QS

As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Qualified Supervisor, I specialize in supporting women—particularly mothers and new parents—through the unique emotional challenges of pregnancy, postpartum adjustment, and the everyday demands of raising a family.

My clinical focus centers on perinatal mental health, motherhood, anxiety, executive functioning, and healing from generational trauma. I provide a warm, inclusive, and trauma-informed space for clients to process, grow, and find balance—whether they are navigating early parenthood, breaking toxic cycles, or simply feeling overwhelmed. In addition to therapy,

I also supervise Registered Marriage and Family Therapy Interns and Registered Mental Health Counseling Interns, guiding the next generation of clinicians with compassion and clarity.

Jessica Reis, Registered Marriage and Family Therapist Intern

As a Registered Marriage and Family Therapist Intern in the state of Florida, I work with couples and individuals who want to build deeper intimacy, improve communication, and feel more aligned in their relationships. My clinical approach is grounded in helping clients understand the patterns that keep them feeling stuck and supporting them as they create more secure, connected, and fulfilling partnerships.

My work focuses on relationship dynamics, including desire discrepancies, emotional disconnection, infidelity recovery, prenatal and postpartum transitions, and financial stress within partnerships. Many of the clients I support are navigating recurring conflict, distance, or resentment, and are ready to rebuild trust, strengthen communication, and reconnect both emotionally and physically.

I integrate systemic, attachment-based, and somatic frameworks to create a collaborative and supportive space where clients can explore their experiences, develop insight, and move toward lasting change. In addition to my clinical training, I am an AASECT certified sex therapist and certified financial therapist, which allows me to support the often intertwined emotional, relational, and practical aspects of partnership.

Outside of my clinical work, I enjoy long walks, practicing yoga, and prioritizing movement as part of my ongoing commitment to embodiment and overall well-being.

Selena Holston-Gabriel, Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern

As a Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern at Monarch Counseling, I am committed to supporting the holistic well-being of individuals and families as they navigate life’s challenges and transitions. My goal is to create a compassionate, collaborative therapeutic space where clients feel safe, supported, and empowered to heal and grow.

My clinical work focuses on helping women, children, and adolescents navigating anxiety, trauma, crisis, and relational difficulties. I approach therapy through a trauma-informed lens, integrating modalities such as DBT, CBT and behavioral therapy, attachment-based approaches, polyvagal theory, and solution-focused treatment. I also have additional training in anxiety, couples therapies including Gottman and Prepare-Enrich, and Psychological First Aid.

For clients who desire it, I offer spiritual integration in counseling from a Christian worldview, allowing faith to be incorporated into the therapeutic process in a respectful and meaningful way. I place strong value on the therapist-client relationship and believe healing happens through safety, connection, and genuine understanding.

Before becoming a counselor, I spent many years serving children and families through international relief work, global missions partnerships, and community-based development projects across the United States and Latin America. I earned my Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling from Asbury Theological Seminary in 2025. In addition to clinical work, I am a children’s author, youth advocate, Christian minister, and community organizer, bringing a deep commitment to service and transformation into the therapy space.
